Pain Management

Pain management is a branch of interdisciplinary medicine that is focuses on the ease of suffering while improving the lives of people suffering from chronic pain. A pain management team comprises of a variety of experts, including doctors, physiotherapists, nurses, physician assistants, nurses and pharmacists, as well as mental health and massage therapists depending on the patient and the type of chronic pain involved. Procedures may sometimes require careful planning and coordination among the various specialists in the team, or may even be treated by one specialized practitioner.

Urgent Care

Radio Frequency Ablation

In radio frequency ablation, an electric current produced by a radio wave heats up a small part of a nerve tissue, which decreases the pain signals from that particular area. This procedure is usually used to ease the pain accompanied by the disintegration of joints due to arthritis, as well as chronic neck and lower-back pain.

Primary Care

Spine Surgery

A spine or lumbar surgery is the surgery on the lower back. The procedure is usually divided into two types, which are Lumbar Decompression and Lumbar Fusion. The surgery is meant to relieve the issues concerned with one or more of the L1-S1 levels.

Orthopedic Surgery

Orthopedic surgery deals with surgical procedures that treat musculoskeletal injuries that may have resulted due to trauma, degenerative diseases, tumors, infections, spine diseases or sports injuries. Orthopedics, or non-surgical procedures, may also be involved when the injury can be treated without a surgery. The diagnosis is usually done by an X-ray, followed by a surgery or a therapeutic exercise regime to bring back the musculoskeletal injury to health. Orthopedic consultants are usually specialized in particular a particular category of the musculoskeletal injury. Depending on the type of injury, the patient is assigned the right type of orthopedic consultant accordingly.

Orthopedic Surgery

Nerve Reconstruction

Nerve injuries may occur due to severe trauma or other pathological reasons. Nerve reconstruction surgical procedures are carried out when injuries to sensory or motor function of nerves cannot be restored to normal using nerve therapy. Surgery may be inevitable when it is observed that the loss of regular neurological function of nerves could possibly be very dangerous for the health of the patient, particularly leading to paralysis.

Ligament Reconstruction

A ligament reconstruction is broadly done for an ankle or knee injuries. For injuries of the ankle, the procedure is known as the Lateral Ankle Ligament Reconstruction (ALR) and for knee injuries, it is called the Anterior Cruciate Ligament Reconstruction (ACL). ACL reconstruction surgery is done with Autographs, Allografts, or a bridge-enhanced repair system. The procedure requires at least six months of non-surgical treatment and therapy before the ligament reconstruction can be carried out on the patient, and the recovery time after the surgery is about six to twelve months.
